While in North Calif. salvage yard I found (11) T3 headlights from various 60-70's cars with 3 different configurations of the T3 logo. Does anyone have an article showing the differnces per year? I have some with the T3 just above the word "Guide", close to the bottom. I can't rememcer what year and vehicle that came off!

Any used t3 headlite I ever tried to use burned out after a very short time. I'll keep my wagner halogens, at least they are bright enough.:bglasses:

Great if your after originality, but they just don't compare to the beams you get from hallogen units!

Here is an article from the BCA Magazine, sorry the text is cut off on my copy also, but you still should be able to identify the lights you have using it.

I've already spent $150 for an "original" style battery. When I saw the set of 4 t3's in the Cars catalouge for $100, I told my wife to have me committed if I ever order them too.
I think after raising 3 teenagers, I'm just about ready to order the headlights!

Mike,
Thanks for the article. It tells me what I need to know. Wow I even have 2 of the fairly rare 72's.

Mike,
Thanks for sharing the great info!
My 70 Skylark Custom still has all 4 of of it's original T-3s and they are still going strong! Have you ever noticed how many new cars you see going down the road with a headlamp burned out? An employee was complaining to me about the cost of having the headlight on her 2002 VW Beetle changed by the dealer. Of course I had to tell her about the T-3's just to rub it in a little since they are 9 years older then she is.

Geeze , I was going to raise my hand and say I could use 1 high beam and 1 low beam for the 68 leSabre but now I feel like I am being watched or something .....:puzzled:
Oh well guess I'm busted , wanna sell 2 68 T-3 headlamps or you going to make a big display in your garage ?
let me know :laugh: :3gears:

72's rare? I guess I will have to pull mine off and put a new set of halogens in.:Brow:
i would like to put some of the newer style composites in all of my buicks, but they are not compatible with Vigilites without some serious/creative plug modifications.

Bruce,
I will have to check how many I have. I wanted to make sure I have a complete set for the 71 GS I am restoring. Other than that I can sell off the rest @ $5.00 each. I will have to list which years of T3 headlights I have and how many. I will also have to check them all to make sure they work!

Carl,
If you have any '68 low beams left after you supply Bruce I would be interested in them.
Thanks,

I put a set of the reproduction T3's in my 67 about 7 or 8 years ago and have been exteremly pleased with them. Much brighter than even NOS T3's with a nice light. I put a set of them in my 69 last summer. Didn;t want to use my NOS ones and got sick of the used ones buring out all the time.

After driving with brighter headlites, I don't think I could get used to the dimmer stock ones. They should make halogen sealed beams with the T-3 logo on them. I wouldn't mind paying $25 a piece for those.:Brow:

I only have 3 68-71 T3 headlights. At least for now I am going to keep those for my car. After I test the "other years" headlights, I will sell those.

A few months ago I dug out some t-3's I had buried with my parts. When I tested them, 3 of them burned out. Now all I have left is one high beam that seems to keep on working. I'm just glad I didn't waste my time putting them in my car.:ball:
