Here's an interesting product: good for 700 psi, 8000 volts, and 500F degrees! Not cheap, but nothing good is! It actually bonds to itself in a few minutes - has to be cut off as it will not come apart. In black, white, or red. $12.50 each.

sounds like the 3M tape i have used for about 15 years ... i think they refer to it as a "self vulcanizing" tape.
i usually find it at my favorite salvage store for 59 cents a roll. .... i tried a couple of off brands of it and the off brands all sucked.
the 3M works excellent. you can stretch it 1000% percent.
over the past 20 years of installing car audio, alarms and fixing peoples auto wiring problems i have learned that it works better than any electrical tape i have ever used ...
i havent tried it on radiator hoses though .... but i have wrapped cracked drain/sewer lines in a house with no problems.
wrapped a few screwdriver handles and wrenches with it too .... makes them more grippy!!

Sounds like something I should have in my tool box. What's the name of the 3M product?

that atomic tape says "silicone" which i think is probably a different compound than 3M might use...
3M dont make the same claims as the atomic webpage either ... i have never had a 3M claim that 3M didnt live up to ... will the atomic live up to its claims?... i dont know.
