Okay I got one, Im trying to rewire the engine harness in my 67 riv it had an external regulatorhow should the alternator with an internal rgulator be wired.some one else tried to do this on the car before I had it and hacked it up pretty good,melted the wire from the alt. to the starter.I"ve got the schematics for what wires go where,stock. I just need to know what to change. Thanks,Tim:confused:

get a 1 wire regulator , replace the one in the alt you have , providing it is a internal alt (72 & up) ,hook a wire from battery stud on alt direct to a power source like solenoid or pos. battery post of battery and eliminate ALL other wiring from the remote regulator to the old alt. VOILA, it is quick , easy & clean. only drawback is no idiot light.:laugh:

They make a modification harness for exactly this purpose and you get to keep all the lights. I thought it a bargain at $20.
