The reproduction X braces are correct for ALL Skylark/GS 70-71 with A/C & Non A/C cars. For 1972 they are not correct in style but will work on 72 non A/C.

Price is $49.95 not including shipping.

Correct 72 braces will be made with a commitment of a minimum of 10 sets. The thread for the 72's only is titled "72 Core Support X-braces"

Email your zip code for shipping costs to Braebyrn@comcast.net

Found where it shows the brace coming from the passenger side bumper bracket should be in the front. The other should have the rubber tube with the slit in the rear.

Great info on the assembly manual

Nicholas, these look like they could be identical to the braces I see in my 68 parts book. Do you happen to know if they are interchangeable? I also see a discrepancy in the book as to where used. The diagram is labeled: RADIATOR 1968 - 30-4000, and gives part # 1383651 for the brace, but when I go look up the parts group 8.155 it lists this part # as being for 44-4667. Do you know specifically what 68 cars would have used these braces? There aren't any on my car now.

For 70 they are on all converts and big block hardtops. Probably the same in 68. The 70 part number is 1231950, so it looks like they are similar, but different...

Hey Rick,
I would be interested in a set of the 72's. I'm in no big hurry, so whenever you have 10 sets commited to is fine by me. I would be happy to pay ahead of time, as I know it takes some money to get them built.

All 72's whether a/c or not, had the braces with the bends. We have an original 72 GS 350 conv. non a/c car that is proof of that.

Andrew,
When you bought yours, I didn't reproduce the bars with the A/C provision. When I have them ready, I can send you a set. Right now I am in route to AZ/MN/WA and maybe BC, Canada.

Thanks StratoBlue 72 and IDOXLR8.

Thanks Tim, I appreciate you clearing this up for me. Rick I appreciate you keeping in touch throughout this. When you get back in town and are ready I will send you the set back that you sold me, and we can trade for the correct ones, thanks.

Hey Rick,

This is George in San Jose. I found that the Gold 72 GS from VI did not have the braces when I started assembling and cleaning up the front end stuff. I remembered there was a thread last year about a guy that was making the braces so I posted the following thread [http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=109733] and someone directed me to this thread and what do ya know it is you that was building the braces. Anyway Bill said that he would check for them and not having them is holding me up so I am wondering two things, (1) can you make them or did you ever make the 72s and maybe still have a set? (2) since you have been at Bill's and sort of know what parts are there, do you know if he has the set for the 72 with AC?

Thanks,
George

I am in need of a set of 1971 cross braces. My zip code is 33702. I need them as soon as possible.
If you do not make them anymore let me know and I will seek them elsewhere.
Maybe you know some one else that I can get them from.
