For all of you in Northern IL, and south WI, My club, On the Road Classics, puts on a cruise night the 2nd Wed of the month starting May 12. It runs from 6 - 9:30. We work with the Village and basically shut down the down town. We average 500 cars, and app, 2000 people. Their is a DJ, food, and some of the nicest rides around. It is worth the ride if you are in the area. The event is limited to PRE-77 cars only. Basically we are located at the intersections of Park Ave, and Seymour Ave, in Mundelein, IL. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks Tony

Surprised I never heard of this one since my residence is just about 15 miles away. Then again, I've been overseas for nearly nine years and maybe that has something to do with it..

Now that I've expressed my ignorance let me say... THIS SOUNDS GREAT.

Another thing to work my schedule against. Thanks for the info. In the mean time, maybe a buddy of mine can bring over one of my cars for the festivities. Will work on that too.

Do the car people get a free hot dog or something? Any recognition prizes for the best cars?

Its free admission, and we usually give out dash plaques at the September show (depending on what is left in the budget). This is our 4th year, and it gets better and better. Food is cheap from 4 local venders, but not free. Their is a more upscale sit down restaurant (Park Street Restaurant), and a downtown bar. We have a DJ, and an occasional band for entertainment. It is a very organized event. We only do 1 trophy. That is to honor a club member who is no longer with us. We choose 1 car each year that would be something he would have liked. Come on out, you'd enjoy yourself. Thanks Tony

Tony,
Sounds like a great time, we will try to make it with one car if not both.

This show went from nothing to 500+ cars in two years. Get there early for the best parking. The food is good too. I'm looking forward to May 12th.

Hi Tony

Could you list all the Park on Park nights and specify which one is going to be Buick night.

Chicagoland GSCA will definately advertise the Buick night on our calendar. Do you still have the year designations that may limit our mid 80 Turbo Regal participation?

Thanks

Dates are as follows: May 12, June 9, July14, August 11, September 8. 6-9:30, with no parking allowed prior to 5:30. This is still a pre - 1977 show, so we unfortunately can not accomidate everyone. Buick night is on July 14. I saw your 70 GS at Jimmy's last week, looked good. OD is the way to go. Take care Tony

Any questions call the Mundelein Mainstreet office at (847) 970-9235. Hope to see some Buick folks out their. Keep an eye for the Sportwagon parked in the Main row. You'll know its mine, it stands out a little. Thanks all Tony

Tony,
We will be there, where can we park our Chevy Truck (it's got a BPG sticker on it) :Brow:. Also will Ernie be out? We want to see how the new bumpers look.
Look forward to meeting you & seeing the show.

Have a nice weekend.
Beth

Sorry I missed you Dana. I did meet Beth. I wish I could have talked more, but I run around like mad at those shows. The old couple in the vet were actually in the general parking by the alley. He tried to tell me it was a 54, and I just smiled. I will get more wagon pics posted soon. She's coming along. I'll see you in September. Take care Tony
