1970 vin code help

Does anyone know what FL1 stands for as an assembly plant code cause thats whats on my vin and cant seem to find even an F


Sorry thats not on my vin thats my data plate so it wouldnt be the same sorry

FL1 is for Flint Michigan.

The VIN has a Buick plant code, and the cowl has a Fisher plant code. The Fisher plant codes would be close (in geographicaL location) to the Buick final assembly plant.

Where did Duane find that out? Probably from taking apart and decoding paperwork more 'A' bodies than most of us will ever see :)

I've not seen the Fisher codes in print, but I never scrutinized my Fisher Body manual either. Live, learn, and don't be afraid to ask questions :bglasses:
