Looking for your collective advice on tire size for my '68 Skylark convertible since I must replace the tires. Lots of tread on the existing , but the sidewalls are cracked real bad from sitting for a very long time :(

I have 205-75-14's on the car now and it has been strongly recommended to go to 215's or even larger if possible. I will not be changing the wheels as they are in good shape (might need 2 center caps replaced).

Any comments on tire brands is also appreciated

Thanks........Mark

I would go with:
215/70/14
or
205/75/14

That is just my preference- I drive a lot of miles, and don't push the cars through the corners. Some people like bigger (taller and/or wider) tires.

The BF Goodrich Radial T/A with whte raised lettering 225/70 14 is a popular proven tire. Do a search here and find out for yourself.

I have 225/70/14 Dunlop Qualifiers on my 70. They fill up the wheel wells and look great. they're mounted on 14x7 wheels. -Kevin

Thanks guys,

I presume I can get the bfg's in whitewall....I like the white lettering but want that "original' look on this car.
