Had a long overdue brainstorm over the weekend. Fixed cost and labor is cheap in China. Give me a couple of parts to start with and lets see if I can find a couple of good fabricators here with my connections.
Looking for Alan, Michael, or some of you to identify them. You tell me what would be worthwhile if you think there is a possibility. Chinese can copy anything as good as new or better.

EEK! A chinese grille on my GS? Hmmmmm........as long as it looks good!
By the way, Mike? I assume? Could you please put at least your first name in your default signature. Just click on the "user cp" link near the top of the page, then select "edit profile". Down aways is your default signature settings. Thanks, welcome to the board! :)

I say why not as long as the quality is there and the price is right. Who cares that it's made in China. We need these parts!!!!

Actually, one of the Man. I spoke to planned to have them made in China for the same reasons. I also worked with a Canadian man. FAVORABLE exchange rate of .67 American to $1 canadian made that one a good deal.
Your problem is getting an original for them to copy. That's a $500 to $800 expenditure.

Gee, I would think there must be some GS owners around "here" that have extra grilles that could be volunteered?? It would come back to the owner in original condition, right?

They tell you yes on this, but they offer no guarantees. If they can't give you a guarantee, then I would not bank on it.

Here's another one: Hood ornaments for the 65 Skylark. IMPOSSIBLE to find a nice one. I eventually did, but it took me YEARS! If the unthinkable happens and it breaks (like they all did) I gotta start all over.
ChinaMikeM, how about it?
