WELL, i COULD have a burnout picture to post here.. but the custom just plain doesnt do it! maybe its the 2.56 pegleg.. or maybe the tired 350-2 combined with a stock torque converter.. or maybe its all three of those things? Oh well, its probably better that way.. dont wanna get into trouble..

It was a perfectly clear, sunny day.
Roberta- this was shot at Clarkson, at the annual autocross and burnout contest. Did the auto club do that when you were there?

And you call yourself a car guy?? You should be able to get the lawnmower to smoke the tires!:Brow:

yeah but to get a lawn mower to roast the tires you have to put the front end against a wall or truck
not that i have ever done it or anything:Brow:

Well, i dont really trust this car.. BUT i did get it to lay a light stripe in front of our house the other day. Mom says no waterboxes though.
I have a video of me in our old WE4 doing a really really smoky burnout and a donut.. it was really windy though and all the smoke just went into my neighbors house
If i can get someone to host it, i think you would all enjoy seeing it

Wow, that's a helluva burnout for that 2bbl skylark. Cool! Too bad all that tread was wasted on a marginal picture though, that one could have been a neat one to frame if it had been a wider angle and a little more clear.

Sweet burnouts though! Where's the block long ones though??

The car is race only. he runs consistant 11.50's with the car he has ran a best of 11.37. The car has had the same motor for three years and he never touches it. Just pulls it off the trailor to change the fluids every year. Other wise it's stored on the trailor even :TU:
To me thats impressive!

My first time at the track with the Riv. My buddy didn't bring his digital camera, so all I have is this after-shot. It was my fourth run (and bad launch! Still getting used to it). Spun 'em through all three gears. :3gears:

Not really a burnout shot it was my first ever run down the track back in 91', it was like driving on ice, just kept feathering it till it hooked.

It has ran a best of 15.32 in the 1/4

What are the factory power ratings for the 1973 Electra? Won't that engine have EGR and all of that other crap?

Finally got the pics of my OLD truck up here, boy was the owner of the lot I did that in, PISSED!!!
But my buddy and I died laughing...
Craig Balzer
11-30-2004, 08:08 AM
Jesse
I can't say as I blame the owner of the lot for being PISSED. Doing a burn-out in what appears to be such close proximity to a bunch of parked cars -- most likely his customer’s cars -- is nothing more than irresponsible.
I'm as big a fan of muscle cars as the next guy and I have done (more than) my share of stupid things, but this was not a very bright move. The same lot 10-12 hours later is one thing; this is quite another.
Nothing personal, Jesse, but there is a time and place for everything and you missed the target . . . big time.
Craig
Oh jesus craig, take a chill ..
First off the reason he was pissed, is cause it left a 4 inch divot in the pavement, nothing more, the lot is IMPOUND yard :jd: not like it some place where people have their cars repaired.
And I bvet you HAVE done more stupid things than a burnout in a parking lot, since that was MY FIRST ONE EVER.
SO next time before getting PISSY, why don't you use some intelligence and ask some questions to determine what actually happened..
You assumed too much. And YEAH I take offense.
Ever drag raced in traffic, or squeeled your tires in traffic, well to SOME that is as bad if not worse, since your near others..

Have fun cleaning the garage door and bricks!
One would have to assume the wife (if there is one) doesn't mind the custom black stripe on the light concrete driveway. :error:
Just DRIVING these cars is considered irresponsable by many people, thats why I like it so much...you can just let it go for a while....
This pic was taken from the burnout movie on my website. Sorry qaulity isn't great, but if you haven't go check out the movie. Kinda cool. Car was stock when this was done.

Hey Joe,
Is that at the old dragstrip in Albuquerque? I was there a few years back making some passes in a friends 93 Mustang Cobra.
We'll be landing at the airport on Friday around noon, eating some New Mexican grub, then heading to Portales.
All I remember was running about 100 mph and trying to miss the potholes at the end of thrack with only the headlights to light them.

The track has been repaired of all potholes after reopening last year with a new owner.

That's good to hear. My friend, in the military, moved to Turkey and has been in Florida for a couple of years. I don't know that he's aware that they reopened the track. I remember him mentioning that there was going to be a new track there.
There's Mexican food, and there's NEW MEXICAN food... I'll take the latter any day. We got married in Santa Fe. How I miss my ham, cheese, and green chile omelets. We've got a place called the Santa Fe cafe, but they didn't offer chips/salsa, and they didn't have sopaipillas on the menu - we never went back.
We purposefully fly into ABQ, although Lubbock is closer, so that we can eat the food! :TU:
