1965 300 valve question

Hi,
Does anybody know if the 65 300 motor (in my 65 Sportwagon) is supposed to have valve stem seals??
I didn't find any while taking of the heads. Also the 65 shopmanual doesn't mention them. They were included in the felpro 64-67 gasket set though.
Can anyone shed some light on this??

Alot of the older motors didn't come with valve seals - some came with just the 'o-rings' at the top of the valve -- others had them on only the intakes. Usually, the ones that came with none - had rather thick guides that didn't wear out as quick.

It's not that difficult to convert old style guides to run newer 'positive' style seals!:TU:
