This was not a Big Block Buick kill but still a Buick Kill.
Took my GN to the track last week to try her out since the new heads and turbo. 85 degrees out in Alaska yes 85 in Anchorage and 90 in Fairbanks. Turned 12 flat at 115 on a weak 60 ft of 2.1. Car was pulling good but need to get some slicks for sure, then I will be deep into the 11's where she should be.
After the strip we decided to go cruzing on sat night. Right off the bat here rolls up a Bullet mustang wanting a piece of the ole Blackie...Hit the light and here we go...spank was not even a race...By the way I know their are pleanty of new stangs out their the I would not have this out come with. Their were some new supercharged Cobras at the track that were turning mid 11's with little mods, very impressive and to be taken seriously for sure.
The next kill was a Mitsubishi Lancer that would just not leave me alone. We were in traffic punching off next to each other where you could not go very far without catching up to traffic ahead. The little Ricer would pull me with his quick spool up until I got boost and then I would reel him in. The Ricers were laughing thinking that was a race. So I headed out to the Hiway and they were dumb enought to take the bait! Ok boys now let see who is the big Dawg..We punched of and the Ricer pulled me until the boost hit and it was good by! I hit 3rd gear and locked up the converter and I was like they stood on the breaks! I could not believe how the turbo pulled when you lock it up in 3rd, like a jet! I have just installed this lock up switch and I tell you if you have a turbo and have not done this simple step you are missing alot of fun.
The Ricers followed me into a parking lot and were doing this bow down thing with their hands. The kid says man I have never been beat! And not that Bad!
Actually were some pretty nice kids, said he turns 12.80's and has some trick stuff on the car.
A while back I test drove on of these cars, Im not a big fan but Ill tell you they turn like nothing I have ever drove, pull nice for a stock car. Would I own one? dont think so but never the less I think it is good that performance is back in the car world, makes it fun for all of us. If not who would their be to race?
