Just wanted to see if anyone has used a really tall tire on a 70 GS. Was thinking of trying a 285-70-15 which is 30.8 inches tall and am not sure if it will fit the wheel well.
The car has 3.73's and I want to make it more drivable, yet still keep the gears for the track.
Any help is appreciated. :)

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
I know Ron Mooney has 275/60's on his GS and they are 28" tall. 285's are less than 1/2" wider so that should be OK but the height may be a problem (may rub on top of the wheelwell on bumps) unless you get the rear higher with air bags or such.
By the way I love this valvebody, it's nice to have passing gear on demand:grin:

Larry,
Thanks for the reply. Not sure what tire I will use yet, but have also found some BFG's in 265 70 15 that are 29.6 inch tall and looks like they will fit and not hit the top too. My 70 sits pretty high in the back as I have station wagon springs. Just want to cut the rev's down on the highway and don't want to switch rears.

Glad you are happy with the valve body. It makes all the work worth it.........:)
Take care,
Mark

295/65R15's will fit. They are 29.6" tall. Must use 8" rims.
