Now that I have a decent exhaust system its time to iron out some little problems.

I am running a 71 Q jet built by John Osborne on a Edelbrock performer intake. The performer intake has a provision for a choke thermostat but is not the same a stock unit.

What type of choke thermostat will work with both the stock carb and Edelbrock intake?

When I had my motor rebuilt, my builder made a choke to fit my B4B intake. It looks slick and works great. Give Gary a call, I'd be suprised if he couldn't fix you up. Let him know you got his name from me.

You might consider an electric choke set up. I believe that these are available for this carb, and will eliminate the need for external heat sources. Ray

Call TA Performance. They sell a divorced choke t-stat that you mount on the intake, but you have to make your own linkage. All you have to do is bend a strong coat hanger to make it.
