Hey guys!!

I've been looking over ya'lls conversations to try and get some tips (whoa...I dont have a clue what you guys are talking about...new to this) on performance improvement...but it sounds pretty expensive. I'm an E-3 in the Navy....so basically I stay pretty broke. :) What can I do to gain some horses for a low dollar?

350 4bbl
flowmasters

That's all I have.

Thanks, Ben

Buy a chevy! lol
You bought the wrong car to go fast cheap. hehe
Defiantly get an open element air cleaner if you don't already have one. Use the K&N filter if you can.
Recurve the ignition timing. I'd upgrade to an HEI ignition system. And then order the Crane advance kit. It's around $40. Has springs and an adjustable vaccum advance diaphragm, and instructions on getting the right spring combo.
A TA performance intake manifold will also help, but that's around $290 or so... headers would also help you out, for another $280 or so...

NOS aka N20, Laughing Gas man.. I've been told countless times that's the cheapest price for performance mod you can get..

I'm not a 'flyin on the juice' person so am only relaying what I've been told over the months.. :-)

I read somebody talking about getting the manifold "boared" out...I think that's the right phrase....rather than going with a set of headers...how much does that run?? And how much does a descent cam run?

Do a tune up first (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and points) than get some gears 3.23's-3.60's, dual exhaust, an open element air filter, a shift kit, an advance curve kit, and a good coil.:) All that sould be a good start

as far as "boring" out the manifold, it's refered to as porting. Basically going in with a grinder and making everything smooth and bigger. I'm not to sure the exact price, but headers are cheaper than having you manifolds ported. Look under the subjet "exhuast manifold porting"

Rebuilding the carburator ussually restores alot of lost power.
