Thinking about getting some Centerlines for my 72 down the road and have my eye on the Thruster series... what do you think? 17x8 front and 17x9.5 out back.

I vote for stock ralley's (15x8's and 7's up front) or 17" torque thrust II's. JMHO

I love the wheel size combo your planning. Make sure you let us know what backspacing and tires you end up putting on as I'm contemplating a Pro Touring car and had those wheel sizes exactly in mind. But I only have a guess as to backspacing.

I'm thinking 4" up front and 5.25" to 5.5" in the back, based on backspacing on previous 15x8's and current 15x10's on my car.

Nope.... You need 5.75" backspacing for the 17x 9.5's on the rear. I had a set and that spacing sets the wheels perfectly in the middle of the wheelwells with over an inch on each side. If I was to do it again I would put 17x11's on with 315 width tires.

I like the look of the factory ralleys, but I think I am going to go with a more custom look. I doubt I will go with the Thrusters though... maybe Cragar Keystone Klassics or (in my dreams) some Fikses! The prices are outrageous, but they are SOOOO hot.
