Newbie trying to figure this out. Not that my grille is the most pressing issue. see avatar.

But the only grilles being reproduced are the '68 and 69 Sklylark/Gs or am i wrong.?

How about 70-72 models.

68 - no one
69 GS - possibly Buickfrank
70 GS - GSCA
71 GS - Maybe GSCA after 70 is completed
72 - no one

68-72 are not in production in the sense you cannot buy one today except NOS, reconditioned and used.

Marco is right about expectations as stated plus there is a Board member in Tampa working on making a few 71s.

Yep, Frank McIntyre announced in Salem that he will be working on the 69 GS grille repro during the coming months. Also has plans for the 455 throttle cable in same time frame. This was announced over the PA at the track. I'm afraid the 68 grille will be no more than a dream for a long time.

Marco,

Thanks for the info. I have a friend who works at a plant, where they work with perlite and polyresin. He said he could make a "new" grill for the '72 GS for me. I just did not want to go throught hassle of the setup (mold) if there was already someone making repos.

Hi Scott -

Does this mean you're going to try to repro the '72 grilles???

Talk to Jon on this board (71ConvtSkylark) as he's doing the '71 GS grilles in this manner...and thanks Jim - I forgot about Jon's project in my first reply.

PS - Are you going to make E-town in 2 weeks?

Hey Marc,

Yeah, it has crossed my mind. Of course I am "slightly" away from that part of the project.

I will talk to my friend George more about it and see really what it entails.

It seems to me that the originals are PVC and not Acrylic or PET.

Well about E-Town. I have a hotel room for Fall Carlisle, (went to spring and was disappointed in the price gouging), but I need more info about the swap meet at E-Town.

It the swap meet area pretty well attended, vendors and people?

I have capability to do these at work also. Has anyone worked the licensing aspect with GM or would this be under the radar? I was curious about the GSCA ones and wondered why production run was going to be limited?

any one thought about doing a 67 gs/special grille. Finding one that isn't broken is impossible. :Do No:

1970 repro grilles can be purchase (see details in another forum columm). There's no limitation in the quantities, it's just that each batch of 80-100 pieces requires a specific shipment. That why we're pilling up that much grilles at each time.
