Big Car Overflow Tank Reproduction - Interest??

I need to gauge interest to see if this is a feasible option at this point. We all need them, so why not go for it??

You've seen the new repro tanks out right now, and they're top notch! This would make a great addition to the engine compartments in our cars.

There are two types of tanks for the big cars. They range from 70-72 in the years produced.


1970 Style has two mounting tabs that bolt to the inner lip of the front fender and one tab that bolts to the inner fender itself.

1971-72 style has all three mounting tabs on the inner fender.

I forgot to mention, these tank will bolt onto an earlier car such a a 68 or 69. I don't know for sure if thet will work with anything earlier than that, though.

I'd be cautious about pursuing this endever with out true commitment on sales numbers.
I had a friend trying to sell an NOS one at BPG Nats, and couldnt give it a way.
I think he had one buyer, but it was the wrong year.
The other wanted to pay him next to nothing.
If they won't pay $150 for an NOS one (while the A body NOS ones go for $400 and up), who thinks they'll be willing to pay the $149 for the repo.

Just my 2 cents.

I just use an old plastic bottle hose-clamped to the radiator support just to get me through tech inspection at the track.

It's where all the people who can't fit in the back seat go. :Smarty: They were first fitted to GM cars after yours in recognition of the larger families, more long driving trips, etc. After the "Gas Crisis" of the early '70's, they had to keep putting them in cars as cars got smaller and smaller, and "overflow" became more and more of an issue in transportation in general. Note that today's smaller cars often have enormous overflow tanks...

On the overflow repop issue, I'd be interested in one (as a future repl unit), but I'm probably too price-sensitive (read: Scottish) to lay out $150 for one...

I think this poll is a dead issue. I inquired about it LAST YEAR and no one ponied up....obviously there is not enough interest for repro tanks to be made, so it ain't happenin.
