Had the Wagon out at Edgewater for Nostalgia drag day! Had a small car show and some cool old school rides. Best factor is its not too busy, can get the 3 practice runs done without hassle.

You got it- I had a switch pitch that really needed it, kept it for current th400. I think the next thing should be the cold air induction!

That is a beeeeautiful wagon Ted!! I love it. Big block buick, average looking (however very sharp) exterior, a set of torq thrust wheels. Im definately diggin it :cool:.

What all has been done to it? Those are pretty good times for a wagon...how much did it weigh in at? I'm trying to guage the performance of mine compared to other similar Sport Wagons. Mine has ran 14.14 with the peg leg, but my tranny is really hurting and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I'm hoping to break into the 13's if I get to race it next weekend with the Posi in it now.

Thanks! I built the engine BV (Before V8Buick :) ) So went with TA's recomendation on most stuff-
76 Block +.030 TA pistons-did nothing fancy here
430 head castings, St 1 valve job, stock rockers, adjustable pushrods
TA 118 cam
Performer intake, TA prepped Q-jet
Gessler ported cast iron exhaust
2.5" TA exhaust-gorilla modified for side exit
TH 400 built by Carmen Faso- 2800 stall torque converter
3.23:1 open differential right now! Next on the list to fix!
235-60-15 rear tires on the 7" Torque thrust "D"s
225-60-15 fronts
Front springs from Eaton -65 GS spec

Andy-weighed the Wagon at the track with me in it @ 3900, which is more than I thought it would be. Of course my Dad guessed it exactly.

I was searching for GEARS for the car. What gears do you think would be best?

Opinions appreciated. I like the 3.23:1 for overall driveability, but I would need to find a posi carrier for the 3.23 gears. Auburn and Eaton have an aftermarket posi. The closest gears available would be 3.55:1; and it will work for 3.36 and up gears. So do I get the 3.55's and suffer on the highway or try to find that elusive 3.23 carrier?

Now if we subtract the actual weight of the car......ummmm......Well lets just say this..........A couple of days before ya go to the track....stay away from Burger King.......and just maybe we can get it down to 3500 and few tenths quicker.... :laugh: ..... :jd: .......I am just funning ya! Ok, here comes my Fourwheeling experience to the track...

Many manufacturers make locking differentials for many different differentials. A cheap way to make a pegleg into something that always pulls with two tires is to put in one of the mechanical lockers, like the Lock-rite, or one of the clones. You can actually put them in with the axle and carrier in place under the car. Pull the cover, pull the axles out a few inches, pop out the spiders and side gears, put this unit in, put everything else back and now un-peglegged!" might be worth looking into.

As long as you have a Corporate 10 bolt or 12 bolt, or one of the dana axles under it they build them. Some of the mini-Blazers ran 10 bolts in the rear I believe so they'd be available. Check to find which axle you have then go to a 4X4 shop and ask them if the lok-rite is available.

Got the Wagon up to Norwalk and broke under 13.5 for the 1/4 mile :TU:
Note to self- Don't chew gum while getting photo taken. Makes me look like I have no teeth, when in fact I have at least 2 of my own teeth still! :moonu:
