Trying to ID parts on my '67 GS 400 Conv. I just dragged home and the manual trans looks like a Ford. I can't move the stick to see if it is a three or four speed. So I got underneath to get a visual and it ain't a Muncie. What type of three speed did they use in '67 ? Thanks

The Buick factory 3 speed that year and I think 66 was a Ford. Larry Miller has one with a Ford he bought new.

:TU: If the frame is shot I have one if you are going to save it. I also have front fenders for it. I think I know somebody that may have clean quater panel patches.
Pressure is on. You have to save it now. If you dont want to I will. I still need to complete my other one but I will get to that one later.
Good Luck

Jim, I'm gonna have to talk to you some more. I plan on restoring this car. I will use my '67 Lark as the donor. My lark is a super clean(as far as rust) car and is a driver. The GS frame has some minor weak spots so I don't know if it is saveable or not. I'm a little overwhelmed right now as I thought I was just going to look at a GS for parts and now I have a chance to save a rare car. Thanks for the replies,

your 67 lark conv frame and the GS frame are identical. so swapping frames should be fairly easy. sounds like a nice find. hope you enjoy saving a rare piece of Buick History

I knew the frames were identical, but I didn't know if I would run into trouble with Buick guys if the numbers were different for a GS frame. I think at this point I have to use my Lark frame because it is very clean and its already in my garage. Here's a question, how do I get a door open that refuses to let loose? Do I destroy the already destroyed door panels or what solutions have you guys used? Thanks again.

It depends
Is this gonna be an original restore?
A show room restore?
Or a rebuilt weekend / race way driver?
The frame number wont matter for the bottom two. as a show car would have a smoothed frame with no way to see any numbers or patch work. a weekend racer doesn't need matching numbers either.
a frame off original restore you would want to dig into official rules books [your gonna be showing it then] and cut n weld as needed. like when zoning laws are changed and you can not build a new house on a lot. But as long as 10% of the original building is there, you can do what ever.
