View Full Version : Woodburn Oregon - last chance Sunday 10/31
Planning to head out weather permitting (fingers crossed)
If it doesn't rain the air should be killer!
Would be nice to see another Buick on the grounds! :TU:

Hey Del,
If the weather's nice, I'm planning on going as well. I thought last week was the last run but after looking at thier schedule this weekend is. Duh.
I've never been to the Wodburn strip - only to the strip in Bremerton, WA and the one outside of Auburn, WA.
Weekend forcast shows for AM showers... :(
Fingers crossed for some dry weather on Sunday. Since I took the Skylark out last Wednesday, I'll likely bring the Turbo Buick to Woodburn...

SO? did you go? if i woulda known about i woulda gone.
I called down to the track and they were running 1/8th mile because of fog or water on the track. 1/8th mile racing to me is boring so I ended up not going.
So the long cold winter begins!

i went down. they opened up the 1/4 at about 1300 and started running the 1/8th at 1130. i made my first run at about 1145. The afternoon turned out to be beautiful and i had in five runs before leaving at about 1345 (my kitchen pass ran out at about 1400!). Three runs in the 1/8th and two in the 1/4 - just for time only. It was my first trip to the track - pretty decent setup! The lanes were only about 1/4 full - if that so cycling through was quick. Met some good folks there. :TU:
Sorry I missed you! I did not want to put wear and tear on the ET Streets and burn a half tank of good gas just to run 1/8th mile.
How did you run? I'd guess that the air was excellent!

I did OK but had a blast! It took me a bit to get used to launching on my white walled 14" radials. :eek2: My first run was:
1/8 mile
r/t: .184
60': 2.840
330': 7.883
1/8: 11.472
mph: 71.12
My best after that was:
1/4 mile
r/t: .280
60': 2.162
330': 6.004
1/8: 9.208
mph: 76.96
1000: 11.976
1/4: 14.33
mph: 95.45
That's some addicting stuff right there! I think I've been bit by the bug.
Very cool! definitely looks like traction is an issue :3gears:
As Santa for some Drag Radials?
95 mph in the 1/4 mile shows you're making enough power for a high 13 in my opinion.
