i found a 1940 buick 2 door sedan special i in the proceed of trading for it and i found a 64 riv. that i am going to take the 425 nh and tranny out and put in the 40 it got a stiright 8 now how many on this board has a 1940

The 2 dr sedan is a kinda rare car. If its in good condition try not to chop it up too much.
I have a 40 Century convt.
If you end up with the car check out the Buick Street rodder club, A lot of 40's in that club, running with 425 & 455's

im getting a 39 and 40 buick 4 doors soon were not going to restore them perfectly. just enought to rol around in and use in our group. htey are sitting out in a field by me

I have a 40 Super convert that I have had for 32 years. It has been restored twice( the last time in 1988) and has taken my wife and I over 100,000 miles. The old straight 8 is just as reliable as a later engine, ubt it's tough to find parts for.

I have almost 2 of them, both 4-door....i was also lucky enough to find Sidemount Fenders, and covers...thanks Joe T....for the find!!!
I plan on street rodding mine with a Stage-1, motor, GN-tranny and rear axle, with Holly fuel injection.....Trans AM front subframe and wide whites....i cant wait!!!! PLEASE SEND MONEY!!!! :rant:
