will 80's camaro and firebird rims fit 72 skylark

I was wondering if 80's or even 90's style camero or firebird rims will fit on a 72 skylark.

I'm pretty sure they will. I've seen a 69 Firebird that had some 85 TA 16" alum. rims on it. But, he put the fronts in the rear and vice versa. I believe the offset is different.

For newer (90s) rims, you might need some billet spacers.

you can measure the BS easy enough with a ruler.

for 8 inch wide wheels (assuming these are) you're gonna want a BS of 3.75 to about 5.5. my wheels have 4.125 and are pretty close to the edge of the well. moving them inward will allow for some meatier tires.

Yes, look at this picture... 72 Sportwagon. These are 15x7 aluminum firebird/trans am wheels. They were on the car when I bought it. 245/60/15 rear 235/60/15 fronts.

Just took a set of 80s, not sure of exact year got them at a swap meet, 15X7 inch aluminum wheels off a Camaro off my 72 Skylark. The studs on a 80s Camero were bigger so the holes in the wheel are slightly larger and you have to use a wide shouldered lug nut, which are easy to find. Also the aluminum wheels are thicker where the lugs go through them so your studs may be to short. Didn't really like the look either so I put the chrome Buick wheels back on it, which is the way I'd suggest you go. HTH

the earlier 15x7s with the same backspacing front and rear even fit my 65 malibu with the fender skirts. Of course after a certain year the a body rear ends got 2 inches wider. was it 66 and later?
