Hi,

Just double checking....The '67 Rallye wheel will have the tri-shield on the center cap.?

Reason being - is that I just saw a vendor listing the '67's as either with the "tri-shield" or a "bird inside the ring", like the '66's - and it got me thinking.

My '67 has the original wheels and caps in the tri-shield variety but.....Going through the internet looking at my acquired pics of '67's, it shows a car or two with the distinctive red background with the bird/ring combo.

So in short, what's correct... - or does it depend? :Smarty: :bglasses:

From the factory Skylarks had the Red Bird (Skylark), GS's and Specials had the Tri-Shield. I think alot of the confusion started when dealers swapped wheels from Skylarks over to GS's when new, centercaps and all. Also hobbyists would pick up a nicer condition of centers than on their car and put on whatever was in the best shape or maybe eve looked the best color wise. So, Skylark Red, GS & Special Tri-Shield.

...and if it's the bird style make sure it's the skinny bird not the fat bird which is for '65.
