Where can one find a hitch, in this case for a 1966 Wildcat ?
Any suggestions, let me know,
Werner

One off a Silverado SHOULD work. It depends on the frame width. You do want a reciever hitch, right?

A receiver hitch would be nice, but not neccesary. It should be able to tow at least 2500 lbs. When you mean the width, is it the outside of the frame or the inside ?

It doesn't matter, really. On my dad's 65 Mercury, it has an old one that the guy before us used to pull his camper, and that hitch is welded on the underside of the frame all the way across. :Smarty:

Chris, don't take this as a personal flame against you, but one off a Silverado WILL NOT work. Were talking two totally different vehicles with totally different frames. The only way it would work would be if you hacked it to pieces and jerry rig it to work. Please remember that when it comes to hitches and trailers Safety is the game to play.

GM must be different than FMC, then. The one on my dad's Merc come off a F150. I just figured it'd work on a Buick. Sorry.

Contact www.Hitch-Web.com phone 800-300-4067
they make custom hitches up to Class IV - I had one made for my SportWagon. The original owner (now run by his son) made custom units for YEARS and kept a very detailed measurement set for every hitch he made over the years. He used these to make mine from a template that was done 20+ years previous.
Call.....dont just look at the website.

Alan,
thanks for the info, but I contacted them already and indeed they could make a custom hitch for my WildCat, but the shipping costs are way to high because of the weight. Now I found a company here in Europe and that is a lot easier, I can pick it up myself. But anyway thanks, Werner
