I am thinking about headers on my 69 Skylark Convert. It has a 71 455,10:1 pistons,118 Poston cam. I will be installing a Edlebrock Performance intake next and keeping the Q-JET. Right now it has stock exhaust manifolds with it looks like 1 3/4" pipes going through flowmaster mufflers. I can get a set of Hooker Super Comp headers for $100. Is it worth getting the headers and putting them on. I want to increase the pipes to at least 2 1/2" to get a low rummbling growl out of it. Will the headers be too much(LOUD)? I will be cruising and enjoying driving the car. Not really racing. I respect all of your opinions :Smarty: as everyone else has been doing this longer than me.
