Guys, I have a question about the location of the vinyl top option on the order sheet. I have Sloan documents on a 70 GS that has the "J" codes on both lower body and roof accent colors, and a dash through "convertible or custom top" sections of the order form. The car does not currently have a vinyl roof, but am I correct in interpreting this order form to mean that the car never had one? I am under the impression that the car was a Burnished Saddle , vinyl top delete car. Am I correct here? Thanks, Rudy E

Rudy,
All that is stating is that your has upper and lower body have matching paint. In this case the J J means Burnished Saddle top and lower. On my 73 they use P P or Burnt Coral. That is also why the top has a crossed out box denoting lack of vinyl top.For instance,if your car was Burnished Saddle and a black vinyl top,the code would be J in the lower color and B in the custom top.You are correct.

Yeah Gary right....From what I have seen from sloan, they use the letters and not the numbers like whats on the cowl tag.

The Sloan documents do use the letters, not the numbers. I do not have access to the car, but will check the tag if I revisit. It does have at least one "68" on the tag, as I remember it, but I do not have a copy of it. Thanks, Rudy E
