Hi Dan. Glad to see JL has brought out the new Riv GS. Looks fine in the photo. I've got loads of various scale Buicks and will get this as soon as it's available around here.
Quick question for you. I just joined this forum so I'm not sure if anyone has asked this before. Has anyone ever done a version of the 65 Skylark/GS in any scale, and any material? I'll take anything from plastic or resin, to diecast, carved wood, pressed tin, molded clay, or melted wax. I'm trying to build models of all of my present and previous drivers, and I've had some doozies apparently, but I've gathered some examples of the basic starting blocks for most of my rides. Sheet styrene, putty, and patience is my plan. Any info on the 65 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mouse401

While I know of no 64/65 Skylarks available, I'd say its just a matter of time with Johnny Lightning. I'd also search Ebay for Japanese made tin cars. They made a huge variety of stuff and I am constantly seeing stuff I'd never seen before. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Dan. If I find anything at all on a 65 Skylark/GS on the web I'll post a note to the forum to let everyone know of a source. I've owned a 65GS for nearly 20 years and I've finally decided to try and use it as an example to mock up a 1/24th scale clay version, or I'll try bashing a styrene 64 GTO or 65 Chevelle, with lots of putty and panel forming. The roofs and glass look identical, the body contours shouldn't be too difficult, and the wheelwells from the 66 Skylark look like a match, but the front end and the tailights will probably drive me over the top. I guess I'm getting desparate, but I like a challenge! Mouse401

Consider also an AMT original issue 1964 Cutlass. It may be a more expensive starting point, but I think the front end would be closer on that car. Good luck!
