Your going to be able to get the discount on other sizes too as well, right?
Are you willing to post a link to this over in "the other bench" to open this
deal to non-buick friends?
Thanks Glen,

Hey Glen - Tom posted a link to this thread over on the PY boards. Great savings on the G60's, and if you don't mind a Pontiac-only owner joining in on the GP, I'll e-mail my info to you. I need five G60's for my WW5 GTO. I'll also check with a good friend of mine here in Houston who I'm fairly certain is ready to order some F60's for his Formula, if those can be included in the GP as well.
TIA!

Thanks Tom, Yes, I can get the other sizes also. Let me know what you need and I'll get a price.
Lloyd, eventhough I'm a Buick guy first, I love all muscle cars. I don't discriminate.

Glen, same here - I'm definitely a Pontiac guy (see my sig), but I certainly sppreciate all brands of muscle and pony cars!
I'm getting ready to e-mail you directly about the tires I need, but first I'm gonna check with my friend to see if he is indeed ready to but the F60's he needs.
Could you check a price on the F60 Polyglas GT's for me in the meantime?
Many thanks!

OK Glen, I've spoken with my friend. He would like for you to get a price for him on TWO sets of five tires each for a couple of his cars.
He needs five F60x15 Polyglas RWL GT's for his '72 Formula 455, and a set of five F70x14 Polyglas RWL tires for his '69 T/A.
Many thanks again.

What would be the cost and are they shipped directly to me from Coker?
Let me know
Thanks

Rich,
I'll get you a price but I need to know how many you need (4 or 5) and I also need an address to calculate the shipping amount. Please email that info and I'll get back to you. The tires are shipped directly from Kelsey Tire not Coker Tire.
Thanks

Sorry for the late reply, I've been on vacation this week. The G70-14 red lines are $140.00 each and retail for $155.00 not as good of a discount compared to the G60-15's. Here is the total.
5qty - G70-14 Goodyear polyglas redlines = $700.00
shipping to 17044, Lewistown, PA 55.94
Total $755.94
Let me know.
Thanks

And . . . kudos to Glen for "sharing" this GP with a Pontiacker!
Thanks, and I'll post a couple of pics when I get them mounted. It'll be nice just to get the 10 year old flat-spotted Eagle RH's off of my GTO!

Hey Glen:
Got some tires today, only three of the five G60's that I ordered.
Just curious, wre two shipped separately for shipping price considerations or were a couple of them backordered?
Thanks again. Can't wait to get them mounted and on my GTO!

Thanks for letting me know guys. The only person I haven't heard from is Engie Bauza. Hey Engie, did your tires arrive? Let me know.
Rusty,
Hope your road to recovery is a quick one. I emailed your brother back but haven't heard anything since. No hurry on the tire order, get well first and then we will worry about the tires later.

The GTO looks great. Thanks for sending the pics. How many 455HO GTO's were made in 1972?

Lloyd,

Thanks for the compliments Glen.
IIRC, a total of 588 1972 GTO's were built with the 455HO engine. Close to a 50/50 split between the M40 and M22 transmission.
Only 290 of those were ordered with the little known "WW5" option package. The option package included the following items:
455HO
Ram Air
Unitized ignition system
M40 or M22 (at the buyers discretion)
Saf-T-Track differential (posi)
Y99 suspension (1 1/8" front and rear sway bars, 15" wheels w/ G60's, HD springs and shocks)
Power disc brakes
Gauges and in-dash tach
Formula steering wheel
Body colored mirrors (except on the post sedans because they would restrict the vent glass from opening fully)
And . . . some other minor trim upgrades. Other than the WW5 package, my car has few options. AM radio, A/C, Honeycomb wheels, and a few additional trim items.
FYI, my car has the ORIGINAL spare tire in the trunk, and it's a Firestone G60x15 wide oval.
Unfortunately, I don't have the build sheet for my car, but here's one from another 1972 WW5 GTO. As you can see, it's LOADED!

The car looks fantastic Lloyd!
I have never seen that color before on any 1972 GM intermediate, neat :TU:

Thanks again, Glen.
The color is rather unique. I'm generally not one to harp on the "one of one" deal as far as rarity because of a certain color combination, but I would nearly lay money on this car being the only Shadow Gold WW5 GTO built.
IIRC, the only other '72 Pontiacs I've seen in this color were a Grand Prix and a Luxury LeMans.
It would be interesting to know what the other GM divisions called this color - it looks MUCH more like a silver-gray than a gold. The color code is "55".
Just for fun, here's a shot of the instrument cluster.

06-01-2006, 02:15 PM
Hey Glen:
I'm ready for four more G60x15 Polyglas GT's.
And . . . here's why.
Another '72 GTO! 455HO, M22, A/C, P/S, PDB, Y99 suspension w/ G60's, gauges w/ in-dash clock, underhood lamp, trunk lamp, footwell courtesy lamps, heated rear glass defrost, etc. Color is Sundance Orange, with Dark Saddle buckets.
First owner added the hood tach (quite useless IMO) and the Judge spoiler. Both were offered as "dealer installed" options on a '72. I bought the car from the second owner, who had owned the car since 1987.
It's originally a Rally II car, and I already have a set of the correct small-center 15" Rally II wheels, just need four G60's to mount on 'em. Any idea when you might be able to put together another GP?
TIA.
