Holy Resistance Batman! New plug wires make a world of difference!

The wires that I had were put on this engine back in 1990 when it was in a '72 Electra.
Just cheapy Wells brand wires.
Since putting this engine in my '70 Riv, ( the original engine is safe on a stand awaiting a rebuild. someday.) I have added an MSD Blaster coil, those AC splitfire plugs with the gaps set at .045.
Seemed to run pretty good.
Picked up a nice set of Borg Warner plug wires off e bay for $9.99 a couple weeks ago and installed them last night.
Drove the car to work today and from the moment I started it I could tell the difference!

Its one of those things that degrade so slowly over time that you don't notice them going bad until you replace them.

It's always a good idea to put an ohm-meter on those wires once in a while - probably anytime you take them off for a plug change.
If you measure a 1000 ohms or more per foot, throw them away.

I remember when switching out the low compression engine I bought my car with for the new high compression engine I built, the new engine immediately had a high RPM miss. The wires were OK for the 8 to 1 engine but had too much resistance to allow a spark to jump in the high compression atmosphere.
