The OTHER door does not have this thing. Question: Where can i get one of these bad boys??
Thanks.

I think its officially called a "Door Striker Bolt Bushing". Im actually going to try at the hardware store and just find some nylon bushing material of the right diameter. I think its standard. Wish me luck.
Thanks

i purchased several of these "door striker bolts" from the local pontiac/buick dealer parts dept., a couple of years ago. however, they are no longer produced by gm with the plastic bushing.

What I ended up doing is so simple, I cant believe I didnt do it before. I went to the hardware store to look for nylon bushing material, but did not find anything even close.
I then looked at the bushing in my hand and realized that it was approximately the same thickness and ID as a piece of 3/8 flexible plastic tubing, you know the stuff, kinda milky clear. Like milk jug material.
So I bought 3 inches of that, and 3 inches of some clear tubing, and a couple other types of flexible tubing for about 90 cents.
I decided the first kind was the best and got busy with a fiskars scissors in the parking lot of the hardware store. 60 seconds later I had perfect bushings for my striker bolts. :)
The doors close effortlessly now, and just snap closed like a friggin new car, quiet and easy, and they dont rattle anymore either.
Amazing what a little piece of tubing can do. :TU:
