Does anyone have a picture of a 401 starter so i can see how they mount,reason is i have a high torque mini starter for a 455 Buick but dont know if they would fit in the 401.

It is a spacer that centers the starter in the opening where it is bolted. It also adds stability to the actuator since there is no cone on the end of the Nailhead mini-starter.

Oh ok,is there any place where i can purchase a Mini Starter for a 401?

George, Tom Telesco custom makes a high quality mini for our Nailheads. Darn if I could just find his email address. He is on many of the Buick Boards so I'll see if I can get his contact info. He lives here on East Coast and frequents E'town etc. Nice guy and know's Nailheads and Straight 8's in side out.
