No Bill, no trick..
You just have to fish it thru between the inner and outer panels of the trunk lid.
Putting it back in, a wire will help to use as a fish tape to "fish" the wire back out the hole.

Thanks Jim - I was trying to remove one at a junkyard and it appears that the wire is jammed in between the panels. I though there might be a bracket or such that I was missing.

As an "optional" trunk light for your Buick, find a late '80's Chevy Full size pickup, and get the light from under the hood, on the passenger side fender, to put in your Buick. It has a "retractable" cord that you can stretch from the front of the car all the way to the back, so you can work on your car in the dark, if you "need" to, with this "cheap" GM light. Hooks up with 12 volts, just like your other one, but this is a BETTER light, as you can even HIDE it, but can still use it. You could mount it in the trunk between your 6x9 speakers, up underneath the deck, if you wanted to. Just a thought to save some unnecessary hassle with an "old" light, by upgrading with an "improved" light.:Smarty: :TU:
