I have been trying to find a set of aftermarket wheels for my '62 Invicta but
haven't been able to find anything that will fit/clear everything and that I like
the look of. This got me thinking about my factory steel wheels which I could
just use without the hubcaps and which I have two extra of. I figured I could
just send the two extra wheels off to Stockton and have them widened and
keep the front ones stock. Then just keep the stock ones from the rear
incase I want to put it back to the original look later. Now, the question.
Should I have them resprayed black, painted body color, or should I have
them chromed? Also, what do you think I should do with the hubs, lugs, and
studs? Oh, and the car is Cameo Cream with an Arctic White roof. Thanks
guys!

How about painting the rims red and then using dog dish hubcaps and possibly trim rings? Its just an idea. When I eventually repaint my 62 I thinking of going with Cardinal Red with Artic White roof (the car is currently Glacier Blue with Artic White) and the painting the rims to match the body so the little bit of rim that sticks out from the hubcap isn't black (which just bugs me...OK maybe its the rust and black sticking out that bugs me).

Well, I thought about painting them red but that really doesn't go with the
yellow which I would like to stay with. I have thought about painting the
whole car another color but am going to stay with Cameo Cream as it is was
the least chosen color in '62 and is actually fairly rare. It also came with
custom trim straight from the factory which I think is pretty neat. I think that
I will end up just spraying them Cameo Cream and them painting the hubs,
studs, and lugs black. I think it should look pretty good with 255/60 or
255/70 BfGoodrich Radial T/A's on the rear and 215/60 or 225/60's on the
front. Thanks for the reply!

Black, poverty caps, no trim rings.
