Interesting there does not appear to be a transmission option code. :Do No:
W Soft-ray tinted glass (windshield only)
X Power windows
2F Short Console
4C Ext. Belt Reveal
4F Outside remote control mirror
5Y Deluxe front seat belts
Not sure what the 5k stands for
Not sure about the interior color, don't know what the "I" stands for. the 19 would seem to be deluxe front buckets
I don't remember the paint codes, but I am sure someone does.

Yea maybe someone else can chime in,i would assume when they mean short console its for a stick car?long console code should be 2-G and its for an automatic no?they didnt have any other long consoles for GS`s in 67.
Thanks

George,
was the interior dark blue in the pictures you sent me or black? I assumed they were black, but the quality was so low they could have been dark blue. If so, that's even cooler!

The 4 in the paint code (F-4) stands for a Blue Convertible Top.

The short console is the 4-speed, the long console is the automatic, and YES I know what the fisher body option code 5K means. What will you give me if I tell you? You already have me looking up shifter boot numbers.

And yes some 67's had blue tops, and don't ask me what shade of blue, I don't have that info anymore. If you find someone with a "67 Color & Trim Book" I think it has samples in it.
Boy do I miss those books, I had an entire library from 1958 thru to 1987 for all the makes including GM, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, etc.

They were part of the package deal for selling the upholstery end of my business. When the guys came in to check out my shop, tools, dies, etc. their eyes bugged out when they saw my library.
Everything they needed for the 60's thru 70's muscle car interiors, as far as original trim design pictures, trim codes, vinyl samples, cloth samples, was all there in one package.
I tried to keep it but no dice.

George, I'm pretty sure the "M" is for manual brakes and the "C" is for Clutch transmission (manual trans). Don't know the others...

This is the latest news i got,it turns out the DB01620 code off the protecto plate is in fact a 3-speed manual trans code,if it were a Muncie the code would have a P in it,does this makes any sense?i could not get any other info about the firewall markings, where`s Duane when you need him? :bglasses:

George, I recall reading elsewhere on this site, some time ago, that a Ford toploader 3 speed was used in the 67 GS. I also think that there were only 9 such converts built in 67. that would make your car one rare combo if true. There is someone else on the board, don't remember who it is, who has a 67 GS convert factory 3 speed, in real rough shape though.
Perhaps that is what the code refers to. :Do No: Let's hope that Duane has the info on this. :TU:

Tom the 3spd in rough shape was down in Omaha NE I believe and it was a top loader Ford tranny. I will look for the thread and post it here. George I will try to get a better picture of blue top but the interior I have is the same color as yours.

George,
Those markings would have been used by Fisher Body to build the shell.
I'm thinking,
"MT" stands for manual trans, as they are next to each other
"C" for clutch, so they knew which pedal assembly to use
"Z" for z-bar
But then again I am just guessing. Sounds good though doesn't it.

George,
I recall reading somewhere that Pontiac division didn't have a suitable heavy duty 3 speed for the GTO so they sourced from Ford. The same Buick part number for the complete 3 speed transmission is also listed in the Pontiac parts book and labelled as "Deerborn" model, i.e. Ford. Same part number was used from 65-69, maybe more years. Also the 67 Buick chassis manual has a separate section for the GS400 3 speed manual transmission.

John,Dearborn model is probably the DB code on my protecto plate, the Olds 442 also used this trans fro 65-69 and thats where i got my info from, its really too bad the 3 speed trans is not in there anymore.
