I am wondering if anyone knows of any resources to find wheels in the 18-20" size that fit the bolt pattern and offset of my 71 Riv. I like a lot of the custom wheels I see on SUV's, but most GM's are 6 lug now. Will Ford five lug wheels work?

Tom,

Maybe I will see the owner of this '71 the coming weekend on a big carshow in Belgium.
If I do, I will ask him about his rims.

I recently purchased my rims on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7975842109&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

It says 5 or 6 lug in the title, so I went to the manufacturers website and they make a 5x5 version.

They should be arriving soon and I will test fitment then.

Those 20's look pretty good on that riv. I would want a rim with some dish to it. The wheel wells are really big on these cars. I think they made them big to balance the styling, but with 15 inch wheels their is a lot of space around the wheels.

Test fitted them, but the guy sent me the wrong backspacing for the rims. :af:  Also, no lug nuts and some scratching. Scratches buffed clean, but seller was unwilling to work with me on the other issues. :spank: Got a negative from me. :Smarty:

I ended up purchasing some aluminum spacers that actually bolt on the hub first, then the rim gets mounted to that. *crosses fingers* That SHOULD work, right?? Anybody have experience with those things?

In any case, the whole car should be coming together very soon. I'll get a few pictures posted of the progress.

I have heard of wheels falling off because the spacer bolts failed. Be sure to get all new hardware and check them for cracks occasionally.

hey man did you ever get the pics of the wheels on your car also do you happen to remeber what offset you have to run in order to get the to fit without spacers
