hey ive got a 455 in my 52 special. it runs a little hot, even with an electric puller. its got the stock radiator, and im wondering if anyone knows if there is a performance radiator out there. thanks for the help. ~charlie

i know this has nothing to do with your problem but how hard as it to drop the big block in your car any special parts needed iam going to drop a olds 455 in my sons 53 thanks jimmy

actually, jimmy, i didnt do the swap. i bought the car from the guy who did though, and he said it took a little bit of work and figuring, but the motor seems to fit in the space pretty nicely. im not positive, but i think he might have said that he had to do some fab work for the motor mounts/engine crossmember. its a little tight on either side, and i dont think headers are in the picture for my buildup. the transmission seems to fit fine, and is quite far forward as i can see pretty much the whole bellhousing and the shift linkage plainly from the engine bay. he said he left all of the wiring stock so that a restoration would be possible/easy. the only thing thats at all tricky is that the prndl of the th400 doesnt match the shift pattern displayed on the steering column from the old transmission, so i just have to think 60's while im driving it. and of course, is seems to run hot, but im sure well fix that, even if it just means going fast all the time. hope this general info helped a little. :beer good luck~charlie
