does anyone know the reason that the 63 skylark convertibles only came with 13" wheels,
I am looking in to going to a larger rim, but want to look in to the pros and cons.

do those cars have 4 bolt wheels? it might be because they were a unibody construction and a lightweight car with very little torque and hp. therefore no need for heavier wheels... just a thought

It has the four bolt
The hard top has a 15" wheel option
So I do not know if it is as simple to give it a lower gear set or to give it a smother ride (tall tires small rim) to make up for body stifening because of it being a convertible

the 14 inch wheels where probably an option. Same deal on the 62 -63 Novas. Only Super Sports, and s wagons had 14 inch. I have some 14 inch 4 luggers off of a nova. Should be the same bolt pattern. Let me know if you are interested.

That was the "big deal" back then (pun intended) -

smaller wheels were all the rage and were a marketing "feature".

Kinda funny, huh?
