’66 sport wagon w/big block 455. Grocery-getter/cruiser. Currently sitting low in rear & big gap between front wheel wells & tires. Would like to improve stance & get lower to ground. Any recommendations on springs?
Also, Hotchkis site indicates need their rear airbag system in sport wagon… is this a gimmick or will rear sag w/out (on Hotchkis or any other make)?

Stock replacement springs are available from Moog or TRW. They're about $60 a pair. Sportwagon rears are pn 5233, rate is 159#/inch. Next one down is for the Special station wagon, pn 5235. Rate is 143#/inch....they will sit lower. You can always buy the stock 5233's and trim off a half coil (or whatever) to get the ride height you want.
For the fronts, the GS big-block uses a 6033 spring. Rate is 369#/inch.
I've found ESPO spring to be very helpful. Phone is 800-903-9019.

My late Father put in home made coil spring expanders in the 65 skytop , and later air shocks, we should have put in longer springs to get the back a little higher. but when your both sick most of the time your hearts just not in it.
