I've got a leaky back window with a four month old Steele Rubber Products back window gasket. Lets just say I am not at all satisfied with Steele, as they will not back up their advertised refund policy. Because of that, I am looking for a rubber back window gasket for a '64 full size hardtop not made by Steele. The only other one I am finding is made by Metro, but they have two part numbers and are not looking that hard (been 4 days now) so I have a parked car with a leaking gasket.
Anyone know of a back window gasket for full size sixties era Buicks not made by Steele or Metro? A link or number would be appreciated! http://www.crownvic.us/forum/images/smilies/new/worship.gif

Thank you for the link, although it does not appear they make their own stuff.

You must remember when the original glass was installed with these gaskets they had an off white color sealer around the inside of the rubber window channel & around the outside for the pinch weld area. If you do not install this sealer as the factory did you will have leaks. To my knowledge this sealer is no longer available. On my '61 LeSabre 4 dr. hdtp. there is even a channel in the rear deck that has hoses attached to it going through the trunk to the outside underneath the car. I feel they were all designed to leak & then get rid of the water by use of the channel & the hoses. Of course mine leaked & the way I solved it was to 1st. use the newer sealer between the rubber & the glass after installed. When that was dry I lifted the rubber between the pinch weld & rubber & filled this area. I did the inside & outside on both. Was kinda messy but can be cleaned up some while still "wet" & further after dry. Takes much time & patients but my rear glass doesn't leak anymore.
