Bring your Spare parts with ya. Some one may need it or want to buy it.

I am bringing a new helmet to sell if someone wants it and a cool looking V6 231 intake maybe a few other trinkets.

Thanks, Jeff! I knew it wasn't much, but couldn't remember.

Dee, it's been sitting in the box since I got it. One of these days, when I *ever* get done with these 455 heads, I'll put it in the 2NABOT with the 455. I'll bring it along to Temple, just in case your pump lies down and dies...heck, I think I'm bringing some iron heads and intake, what's a little ol' pump?

Oh, and looks like Linda won't be able to come along this time. :(
But I may be able to drag a ch*vy guy along, we can work on converting him. :Brow:

I might be dragging a Ch*vy guy along too since he's familiar with the Temple track. He's a pretty cool Ch*vy guy and not prejudice to other "breeds". His Ch*vy was Ch*vy of the year in the Dec. '04 issue of Ch*vy High Performance mag.

Check out his article on carb tuning in this month's issue. Haven't had a chance to read it, but I'm all for getting more mileage out of my carb.

I'm not converting anyone because I want all the Buicks to myself! :af:

Sooooooo........ What did it do? (Or are you keeping that secret til Temple?)

No secrets with me! :Brow: (Are you scared? :Dou:  ) I usually win races with me (and my car's) consistency, not with good times. :eek2:

I know what I didn't do. My reaction times were not as good as they usually are. 1.0 reaction on all runs except one and that one was a 1.1. Best time I got, and this was not even trying, was a 9.0 at 77.29 mph in the 1/8th. All my runs were pretty consistent, so it appears the dying problem has been licked!

Just need to work on some tuning. On the dyno, it showed the fuel/air ratio was good and have good vacuum. Need to do some other mods to pull some better times out of the big girl! :TU:

My 69' Prostreet car is not finished. Tunnel ram stage2 is ready but no bird catcher yet. No seats and the wiring harness is still not in. Next year!

Count of 3 so far.

Wayne, give me a call. We got a new shop at little daves new place. Just 500 yards past the shell station across the road from your house. Central air and heat, ya got to love it!

Got my water pump replaced (no broken bolts, yea!) and the upgraded alternator (94 amp, internal regulator) installed in the 2NABOT. Had to weld the alternator bracket, :af: it snapped clean right above the alternator adjusting bolt.

Top 10 reasons to buy an Olds!

10) The Buick Dealer was closed.
9) We wanted to run 17's in the 1/4.
8) We love Buick's pretty tailights.
7) We only had a $100.00 to spend.
6) Wanted a car that GM no longer makes.
5) 150hp and 25 mph to the gallon.
4) 442 4 tires 4 doors & 2 seats
3) GM had to sell slow Olds in order to sell fast Buicks.
2) Grandma can't drive a 4-speed

And the #1 reason to buy an Olds

So you could bring them To Temple and get you butt kicked by some fast Buicks!  :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:

8.) You like to cruise for ugly chicks/dudes
7.) You wanted a 455 but could not handle the power of an Olds/Pontiac

5.) You needed a car to edge out your buddies 17 sec Cutlass at the track :Dou:

One; Because the walking MEGAPHONE isnt going.

Two; Its the same day as our cities Christmas parade. While I could care less about a parade, seems pretty important to the wifey.

Three; If I can get Over #1, and out of #2, I will perform #3 and be there.

Summarization; maybe, maybe not :Do No: If I do, I wont stay over night though. Will come right back.

No excuse!!!!! :Smarty:

1) I'm going to miss the walking megaphone, but I'm going anyway.

2) Same day as our city Christmas parade and I was suppose to work the whole Holiday at the Hall city event and parade. Told my boss I had a race to go to instead.

3) I have no one to drive all the way back with on Sunday (I'm a big chicken to drive all that way by myself), but I'm still going.

It is still more likely than not a fuel starvation problem. I'm going to pull the tank and look at it. Next I think I'm going to swap distributors; then as a last resort replace the fuel lines.

I'm also going to replace the carb. Nick was nice enough to let me borrow his Q-jet and it made a world of difference. Think I could hit 12's with the Q-jet on it. Felt like it would pull the tires since the response with the Q-jet was so quick and strong.

Took it to Denton 3 weeks ago and ran it. No problem in 1/8th mile.

I believe the heads have been worked and run larger than stock valves.

Plugs look fine. No loading up of fuel or running to lean.

jamyers
12-05-2005, 08:49 AM
My nickel bet is that your fuel pickup sock is coming apart and restricting the fuel intake. When you get the tank out, be sure to blow the lines out from the pump end, even the fuel return line.

With regards to the Buick's fine showing in the finals, I appologize. Just shows how much I was keeping up with the racing action .

So what was Ben's best run?

My best was my first run, 13.57 at 99. My second run was a hundredth off from that then I started to have minor wheel spin resulting in the last two runs being a tenth to two tenths slower.

That just about ties my personal best, so all in all I was happy. Lots better than running out of fuel and running 17s.

After my first round fiasco (yes, I am a racing novice), I bought back in only to be creamed by an import who cut a perfect light and ran 2 hundreths over his dial in.

The electric pump seems to have done the trick. Was delivering 8-9 psi all the way down the track. A bit high, but it does not seem to affect the Edelbrock carb.

I dont know if yall saw OldsGirl's last two runs of the evening, but after the eliminations, she ran two time only runs on spray and made a new personal best: 11.10 @ 120. She was pretty stoked. That was the quickest out of the five Oldsmobiles running.

I will have you know that I was a man about it and STERNLY STATED I was NOT going to no goofy parade. Of course nobody was present when I made this demand, so I sulked till she said I didnt have to go to the parade.

Im glad everybody had fun and the Buicks obviously did well. Im out of the loop till I get a car down there to run. Im not much on spectating. As far as car shows, I do those because they are local. Wont go to BG, Indy, anyplace without a car again. Done that for too many years, so till the beast rises, I wont attend.

That said, out of all events I attend, the Bash is one of the better events to attend. My not attending is no reflection on this event, or any other one. Its my lack of participation with a car that keeps me from them. If I had the car running, I would be there! The GN runs, but Im not going to beat on it, and it wouldnt run a respectable time anyways(its all stock), so theres no point in bringing it.

Yall keep having fun till I get there! :3gears:
