ok, im swapping my 3.8L to a 350...got new v6 motor mounts last nite, they mount the engine fine, BUT i still have about an inch to go BACK so the transmission mount can bolt up to the xmember. now, this wouldnt be a problem if i had room in the bay to move back. the motor is all the way back, in fact its so far back, when i was putting it in, it cracked the air box :af:. does anyone have any ideas???? do i have to put the frame pads in a different spot for the 350. also, why the heck does the motor sit so high...if i were to put the air cleaner on, it wouldnt even clear the hood. im about to :blast: my car...

It sounds like your motor mounts are probably in the right position on the motor. What transmission are you using? I swapped the TH200 for a TH350 and just used the trans mount from the 200 and everything bolted right up. I used the V6 mounts on my car and use a T/A intake and the air cleaner fits fine, I'll post a picture. Since the picture I have added a 14x3 drop base air cleaner and went to a 350 alternator non a/c mount to lower the alt. and I don't have any clearance issues. I cracked the air box on mine too while swapping the 350 in. I have T/A valve covers on mine so I have very little clearance back there. I'll probably put stock covers back on there eventually.

the v6 mounts have a left and a right is it possible you crossed them?
i do not remember the difference so you will have to judge by how it sits
on mount, it is the same length to mount holes so it really should match . valve cover will be tight on ac box.
if you loosen crossmember bolts you might be able to sqeeze it a bit forward
as they have them rubber mounts .but i think you have the mounts crossed or even two right sides. i tried crossing them once because the left was broken and had a problem with them not lining up with the pads.
worth a look at least. :Do No:
