Here's Mine
I no longer own it, and do regret selling it. 1971 GS 455. Last I heard it was in Minnisota (99), fire red, white vinyl top, black bucket interior. #'s matching but low on options, only buckets/console, 15", discs, posi, tilt, 24hr clock and I think thats about it...
Cool car.

01-03-2006, 04:52 PM
its ok! can you tell us more on your car? (options, trans...)and is it a factory fire red stage one???
70stage1
01-03-2006, 05:52 PM
Marc,
Yes, my car is a documented Fire Red, Black vinyl roof, Black buckets. Options were, Stage 1 Package, 4-speed manual with consolette, power steering, sonomatic radio, 15" sport wheels (steel wheels with dogdishes) with G60-15 white lettered tires, air conditioning, tinted windshield, remote rearview mirror, rallye steering wheel. Now, some things have changed. The original drivetrain was long gone when I got this car. It now has a '70 SF code 455(+.030), '71 Stage 1 carb, built th400, '72 8.5" 3.42 posi. It was painted '97 GMC truck Fire Red base/clear in '97. At that time the vinyl top was removed(sometimes I wish I would have just replaced it). Things will change again this spring. The buckets and floor shift will come out and a bench seat and auto on the column will go in. Steel wheels and caps will go back on, and the motor will be pulled for some head work and a new cam. I'm always changing something, just haven't got it the way I want it. Thats the benefit of having a non-matching numbers car. Thanks.

01-03-2006, 06:29 PM
Its a shame that the 4 speed and consolette were not there anymore. (how rare they are...)That car was something! I wonder why would someone tear it apart like that.... :ball: well, you brough it back really nice! :TU: and keep it like that, red with no vinyl roof give that car that super look!maybe some sport mirror!! thats just my taste. and why do you want a bench in there, I think console and bucket are way more desirable?.. Do you have the woodgrain color handle on the console?
70stage1
01-03-2006, 06:39 PM
I always get that response about the bench seat. Reason being, if I ever find the funds to put the 4 speed back in it I always wanted a 4 speed, bench seat car. Plus, the buckets I have in it are out of a '71 and way to good of shape to be tearing apart to re-cover. I believe my center console is also out of a '71 as it has a black handle.

Not a Stage car Mike, it is a 72GS350 car. I picked it up off E-bay a few years back. It already had the bages on it when I got it. Some NOS sheet metal and a 455. Still worth alot more than I let it go for. Mabye I"ll be blessed buy the Buick Gods someday!!!!
