Hi everyone,
Just got my 1971 Skylark back in time for Christmas. I always wanted a Buick GXS but cannot afford one so I am adding the features I love about the car to my 1971 Buick Skylark. The color of my car is burnished cinamon and I had the GSX striping done in black (with no pin striping). The ram air hood is a real steel hood from a 70 GS (the grills are from a 70 GS as well). The steering wheel was recently replaced with an NOS sport steering wheel (in sandalwood to match the interior). I have a number of items that will be added to the car soon including:
1. 15x7 Buick rally wheels
2. bucket seats (with optional center console - my automatic shifter is on the column)
3. 4bbl intake and Quadrajet carburator (off a 71 GS)
4. Ram air - air cleaner
5. "black out" 71 front grill
I'll post pics again when some of these items have been added to the car.
Happy holidays to everyone!
P.S. You can see the "before" pic in my avatar.

>>I'll be takign some more side shots this week and will post them here. I have to do the front brakes as well this week - the dirver's side front drum needs to be replaced so that must be done quickly.
By the way, I used to have a 79 Trans Am with the 403 - mine was black with a black interior. Needed too much work though so I had to sell it.

hood tac ????
>>I decided against the hood tac as I didn't care too much for this look. I'm going to add in a tac to the gauges in the interior as I have a blank section since my car did not have a clock.

Very nice, is that an original color?

>>Yes. Burnished cinamon is the original color of the car. I am the second owner of the car (had it for almost 9 years now) and the original owner always kept the car garaged - unfortunately, he had a skylight in his garage?! which faded the hood, roof, and trunk of the car so it needed a paint job even though the sides were perfect. I originally had the car painted by a place in Smithtown, NY about 8 years ago and Perfect Bodies of Long Island, NY just did the GS hood and GSX striping. They do some really amazing work and I highly recommend them. The owner works on a variety of cars including some high end cars - he had some Panteras at the shop with my car and also a split window Corvette.

>>Not sure about Schuberts? Perfect Bodies did the GSX striping and I'll have to look for my old receipt for the shop in Smithtown, Long Island that repainted the car in burnished cinamon.

>>Thanks! I have not seen another Buick with a burnished cinamon exterior so I like the uniqueness of the color.

>>This certainly is a Christmas to be thankful for! The car now has 45,000 original miles - I have lots of original paperwork and the build sheet as well so this is one car I will always hold on to.
