Can some of you gurus tell me is this car worth saving.

1968 GS 350 factory 3 speed bucket seats tach ac ps pb. The car is all there.

The car will need to be rebodied.

Sounds cool, but more money to fix than it's worth in my opinion. Increase in value for 68-69 to justify it as an investment is still far behind the 70-72. Considering the limited group of people interested in Buicks in the first place, that's not likely to change.

1 of 349 sounds like i just may have to save it.

It comes with a donor skylark and it's cheap.

Of corase i have my mechanic backed up for the next 3 years already guess i back him up for 2 more.

Over on the 67-72 chevy truck board they say if it cast a shadow it can be saved.

I love these cars as much or more than the next guy. But I don't think the numbers will work.

Get it all restored for $25K to #1 which doesn't sound possible, and be ready to sell it in a few years for less than $20K for a rebody resto.

On the other hand, go out and buy a car in great condition and put nothing into it. Then in a few years maybe you can sell it for more than it cost you. Especially if it is a big block 4spd. Then again, your storage and insurance may add up to more than the appreciation in value.

One thing's for sure.. You won't make money restoring a 68GS small block 3spd basket case at today's resale value. I'm just making up a number, what's it worth today in #1, about $15K?
