I know, the title reads stupid, but it is something that perplexes me. On A/C cars, there is this "stack" sitting on the transmission hump that is where all the heat comes out. See it in this photo above the tach (not my car):

On the non-ac cars, the stack simply disappears:

My question is, what kind of duct work does a non-ac car have? Do you have something that evenly distributes heat to both sides, or does it just centrally dump out under the dash?
Just curious as I noticed the amazing vanishing stack on the non-ac cars. :confused:
