Posting this on behalf of my fatherinlaw. He's got himself a '63 Wildcat with one of these baby's mounted in the passenger side footwell compartment.

He's wondering if anyone knows anything about them. Was it a dealer installed option or something from maybe the JC Whittney catalog the owner decided to install :Do No:

Car was bought from a widow, so she was little to no use when it came to the cars history.

He has the original owners manual, supposedly it can hold 12 45's, and looks like it was born there. The record player itself is in pristine condition, we havn't tried to see if it would play a record as of yet, mice decimated the speakers and most of the headliner in the car :ball:

As for the rest of the car its a white exterior/blue bucket seat interior, manual everything, brakes windows steering, but has a 401/4 bbl with a powerglide. Cool car, makes even my C body look small :eek2: He's currently working on bringing it back to its former glory, so any information about that record player would be cool.

:3gears:

Wow, in a car? I've never heard of that. I thought of putting one in once, but not seriously. I'm sure it wasn't intended to be used while moving. Cool option, though.
Kinda funny that it has a record player, but manual brakes and steering.

Record players were never factory options in 63. This was most likely a customer install, or a dealer that would put anything on/in the car of your choosing. :pp

Would love to see pics of your car.
