View Full Version : Pick my wheels
This is such a great place.
I am a neophyte to all of this, but am enjoying having my 1962 Speciual Deluxe Convertible. I want to put new wheels and tires on it. Suggestions for the perfect look?

I believe that the perfect look will be dictated by your own taste and that should be the one,but since you asked,I'll give you my opinions on wheels.I'm convinced that the big wheel craze sweeping over the whole car hobby will be dated and gone in a few years.I believe that once you start getting beyond 17-18" of wheel diameter the wheels become more of a visual item and not part of the combination. The plus sizing of wheels and tires has a purpose rooted on cornering performance,I'm all for that and think is great if complemented with a fresh stock or updated suspension. So,it is my humble opinion, for you not to go with the bling. With such an early car I'll look at what was available in the mid 60's like Ansen(slots) or some early Americans or Cragars.Rallyes will always look great or if you are addicted to this thing like me and others,I have a set of mags and a set of steel wheels. For the steel wheels I look and hunt for nice looking hubcaps, right now I have two nice and different sets of Buick caps that I can change in no time depending on the mood :Brow: .Still looking for some nice dog dishes(they can't be poverty caps if mounted to a Buick,Buicks were expensive).I like the flexibility of the hubcaps but I'll vote(maybe you should poll this) for the Ralleys on this one.HF
Thanks. This gives me a place to start. When I finally lay out the cash, I'll post a pic.
