i just have the stock 14x6 5 spokes and right now i don't have the money go go to a bigger rim/tire combo.

i've always just bought cheap tires for the rims and this time round i want to just step it up a few notches if possible.

whats the best size/brand to run to get the most grip and driving pleasure?

its just got a 2.56 rear gear, stock 455 (for now) and a th-350, so nothing too crazy will be done in this car, i like to cruise and go through the curves.

before i was running 215 65's i believe...cobra tires...

thanks guys

BF Goodrich Radial TA's are always a good choice. Not to pricey. Don't know much about sizing for 14's. try to stay close to original diameter to keep speedo accurate. Probably use 60 or 70's maybe 235-245 range

On my old Skylark I ran 245/60/14's in the back (widest you can find) and 225/70/14's in the front.

I think if I were to go with 14" tires I'd probably go 225/70/14's on all 4.

I just happened to be restoring a set of 15" wheels right now, and amazingly a set of tires for those is no more expensive than a set of tires for the 14" rims.

Currently I'm running 225/70-14's all the way around but I want something a little wider out back.I think JEGS has a BF Goodrich in 255/60 14.If not them then it is Summitt. The 225/70 14 will keep it very close to the original tire size if you go that route. :3gears:

awesome, thats what i used to run..might look into something a little wider for the rear...but i'll probably just stick with the same size all around.
