Ram Air System [Archive]

I want to run a ram air system into the 350 in my regal. Are there aftermarket systems? Were there factory dual snorkel buick air cleaners (besides GS ram air w/ hood scoops)? I've heard a good ram air system can give you 30hp, any thoughts?

I would check the back of most magazines for an ad by Air Inlet Systems out of Canada. They have a few different housings, depending on the angle you need to clear things. They also have all the ducting, etc. to make it a complete system!:TU:

Cool ram air is definitely worth some power!!:Smarty:

My thoughts are that 30 hp is a little optimistic. I'd guess more like 5, I'm afraid.

Hi Guys

Just checked the Poston book. They say .3/3mph and 30hp. I dunno about 30, let me see it on paper. They have them listed for the GS, GSX and Skylark. They do sell the the front spoiler seperatly. You can buy the air box and ducting for 155$. Lots of room in the regal to take cold air from inside the fender on both sides. That would look very :cool:.

Just so you know, I ordered one of the poston spoilers..... It sucked (didn't fit good at all) so I sent it back. The whole did cost me 50 bucks in shipping. I went with ramairbox.com setup and it worked very well.

I HAVE DESIGNED/FABRICATED A TRUE "COLD-AIR-INDUCTION" SYSTEM ESPECIALLY FOR BUICK 455 ENGINES IN G-BODIED REGALS.... AND WORKS ON "ANY" CARB-BASED POWERPLANT.

A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, POSTON BUICK (MR. JIM POSTON OF POSTON ENTERPRISES AT THE TIME) WAS VERY INTERESTED IN MY SYSTEM. POSTON EVEN STATED THAT THE "AIR INLET SYSTEMS " DESIGN GOT MANY COMPLAINTS FROM IT'S CUSTOMERS.

A JOB-LOSS AT THAT TIME HAD PUT A DAMPER ON MY GETTING THE PROPER PATENT I NEEDED TO "DEAL" WITH POSTON.
