If your core was leaking badly in the vehicle could you cut BOTH heater
hoses at the firewall, put a piece of 1/2" tube between them and clamp them
together? I understand you would have no heat but the engine would still
circulate coolant and keep you from losing coolant and overheating--I
think. :Do No: Pete

Yes thats all it takes . Remember to check for leaks and be sure the hoses have NO kinks in them when you looped them . Then wire tie them to somewhere where they won't rub on anything .

I used a pair of vise grips on the hose and stopped the leak on a car I had once too.

just use one hose from thermostat housing to waterpump.dont cut it! :error:
Fish killer has it going on. That is the way a mechanic would fix it. :Smarty: Or he would punch a hole in the floor to let the water out!!!!!!!! :Brow: :Brow: :Brow: :Brow:

I drove my 70 Skylark like that all summer before starting the resto project last fall.

Yes, do what 65specialconver said. It's easy and everything will be fine. If done this before.
